THE ETHNOGRAPHY AND FOLK CRAFT MUSEUM

The museum is open daily from 10 a.m. till 6 p.m., days off Monday, Tuesday. You can buy scientific and popular scientific literature in the issues of history of the Ukrainian art, folk culture and artistic crafts, ethnology and folklore study, ethnic linguistics, and ethnic political science. You will be offered a wide variety of folk artists, professionals, authoring pieces of fine and applied arts, represented by Ravlyk art gallery.
The Ethnography and Folk Crafts Museum at the Institute of Ethnology at the National Ukrainian Academy of Sciences was founded in 951 following the merge of two large Lviv museum centers City Industrial Museum, founded in 1874, and T. Shevchenko Scholarly Society
Museum (1895).

The museum funds number over 83 thousand material and spiritual culture monuments of the Ukrainian people. The museum collection of clocks is considered to be the richest and the most valuable in Ukraine. The collection of Easter eggs, the oldest of which is dated 1874, consists of about 13 thousand items. Collection of posters was gathered within 18901930ies and represents pieces of poster art of this period from many countries. Original and authentic character is typical of the museum collections of artistic items of wood, designer metal, folk ceramics, jewelry, fabrics, toys etc. Ukrainian folk clothes collection preserves the key styles of traditional XIX XX c. clothes from various historical ethnographic regions of Ukraine, along with hats, footwear, krayky-belts, adornments of genuine coral, glass beads, and metal.

Former Lyubomyrski palace will offer you a unique furniture collection representing basic style directions typical of decorative and applied art evolution in Europe from XVI century till the turn of XX century, along with the collection of porcelain and faience. The museum collection counts 17 fund sets from over 18 thousand exhibits.

THE FOLK ARCHITECTURE AND HOUSEHOLD MUSEUM

Open daily from 10 a.m. till 6 p.m., day off Monday. Children under school age free entry. The museum is located on the 50 hectares of the
picturesque Shevchenkivskyy Hay and is one of the largest in Europe. Founded in 1971 according to the ethnographic principle. The museum displays 124 folk wooden architecture monuments. Among them houses the oldest of which were built in 1749, 1792, 1812, 1860,
and 1887, household and manufacturing buildings (water mill, windmills, fulling mill, tartak, smithies). Buildings and constructions typical of frame lowland economy and lumber camps are also of certain interest. The museum prides itself on the 6 wooden temples. The museum fund contains over 20 thousand household items and pieces of folk art. Old printed matter collection counts 122 exhibits.

THE MYKHAYLO HRUSHEVSKYY STATE MEMORIAL MUSEUM IN LVIV

The Mykhaylo Hrushevskyy state memorial museum in Lviv was established in 2000 in the face of the Independence Day in the villa near the Stryiskyy park in which the well-known historian, Head of the Ukrainian Central Council, the first president of the Ukrainian Peoples
Republic (1918) used to reside with his family within 1902-1914. Six exposition halls elucidate virtually all M. Hru shevskyys life periods and his tremendous oeuvre. A memorial garden was laid down in 1999 by the 9 presidents participating in the Sixth Summit of Presidents of Central and Eastern Europe.

THE IVAN FRANKO LVIV LITERARY- MEMORIAL MUSEUM

Open daily, except Tuesday, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Museum offers excursions. In Frankos Parlor you are welcome to become a guest of frequent literary and artistic events, book presentations, exhibitions.
The museum is located in the house where the prominent writer, scholar, political and public leader used to live and wrote his best works. The museum funds count over 30 thousand units of value. These contain I. Frankos personal possessions, his manuscripts and autographs, documents, original pictures, original editions of his works, abundant Franko Studies literature, and the great Pioneers publications in foreign languages. Ivan Frankos study has fully been recovered in the museum building.
