On the 9th of May rock concert within the jazz-bez festival will be given. It will start at 4 p.m. and 5 bands will compete for taking part in the final festival «ROCK NOCĄ».

For ten years the Flugery Lvova Ethno-Jazz Festival has managed to become a ‘visiting card’ of the city and the most popular spring festival. It is held annually in early May just in the heart of Lviv: the “unchallenged” venue of Festival conduction is the inner courtyard of the City Hall.

The Festival was launched in 2003 for the first time.
Whithin ten years the Flugery has involved more than 150 bands (over 500 musicians) from Ukraine, Poland, Belarus, Czech Republic, Lithuania, Estonia, Austria, England, Scotland, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Germany, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Senegal, Moldova , Russia, Israel, the U.S. and others.
In 2013 the XI FLUGERY LVOVA /Weathervanes of Lviv International Festival/ in association with the ROCK NOCĄ (Zielona Góra, Poland) will hold a competition for Ukrainian rock bands.
The competition winners will participate in the Flugery Lvova Festival on the 9th of May in Lviv (a so-called “rock day”) and the best rock band of the rock-day will be invited to participate in the final concert of the ROCK NOCĄ Festival to be held on 28-29 June 2013 in the Polish city of  Zielona Góra . The final Rock Noca concert will be also represented by the winners of similar competitions conducted in Poland, the United Kingdom, Belarus, Lithuania, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Russia and Germany.

III City Beer Festival and VI City Holiday “Batyar’s Day in Lviv” are united!

Taste beer and be a batyar in Lviv! You will remember this event for a long time!

This fest introduces the old tradition of brewing to its visitors. The main highlight of the Beer Festival is that everyone will be able to taste beer from the most famous “beer countries” of the world!

The festival will be divided into several zones, each of which represents one of the country known for its tradition of brewing. Without leaving the city, you will be able to visit Germany, the Czech Republic, Belgium, Poland, Holland and England. You will not just taste the beer of these countries, but also plunge into their culture, since representatives of these countries will visit our city to demonstrate authentic beer traditions.

Within five days the festival will entertain visitors by Gastronomic Fair “Beer and to beer”, various interactive entertainments, interesting beer competitions, spectacular concert show program, unique open-air parties and it’s far not all!

And if at the festival you meet stylish batyars in hats and sleeveless jackets who amuse audience, sing songs, dance, pay court to girls and whoop it up, you should know that you got on VI City Holiday “Batyar’s Day in Lviv”, which will be celebrated at the III City Beer Festival. It will be an incredible amount of entertainment and attractions!

Easter is a family holiday in Ukraine and Lviv is the best place to feel this atmosphere of joy and happiness. The family spirit here is present in each temple, on every square and street, where traditional folklore celebrations, fairs, numerous concerts and theater performances take place. World renown Ukrainian Easter eggs, embroidery, ceramics, decorations, woodcarvings attract the guests.
During the Easter celebrations, the annual ethnographic festival “A Great Gayivka” (ritual round dances and games) is held. A few weeks before it starts the master-classes in Ester egg painting are to be given.
Don’t hesitate where to celebrate Easter, as Lviv is the best place to do this!

Organizing a party on St. Patrick’s Day has become a tradition already. The St. Patrick’s Day will be celebrated on March, 16th for the 5th time in Lviv at the night club “Staryi Mayak”.

The band “Kings&Beggars” will appear with an Irish programme. A special guest of the party – Kiev band O’Hamsters (Irish folk-punk). It is supposed to be funny and unforgetable, so come and enjoy the party!

A unique beard competition will be held this year. Boys, be ready!

From 14th to 17th of February at Lviv Art Palace (17, Kopernyka Str.) an extraordinary and brilliant performance ― VI City Chocolate Festival will take place. Lviv invites all sweet teeth to taste the best variety of chocolate sweets.

The festival will last for four days, so the visitors will be able to visit the presentation fair of chocolate products of best representatives of this industry, participate in master classes with professional chocolatiers, enjoy chocolate handmade stuff. All chocolate lovers can enjoy the most delicious Italian sweets in Lviv at Chocolate Festival. About fifty unique sculptures from huge blocks of chocolate will be created, you will have the possibility to visit the show of chocolate dresses with the assistance of Ukrainian designers — Choco Fashion, and join various chocolate workshops.

The children will be able to create chocolate sculptures and drawings themselves on the art workshop. Candy and cakes of paper, balls and great houses of chocolate, crackers, various powders will be created during this workshop. The entertainment programme will become memorable for the youngest participants of National Chocolate Festival.

On 15th of December the Christmas Fair has been officially opened.

This year, as usually, Christmas holidays in Lviv will be accompanied by traditional festivals, New Year concerts and exhibitions. Among them, the most anticipated event will be the 3rd Lviv Christmas Fair, the first and only fair of European style in Ukraine. The fair itself looks like small wooden houses (on Svobody Ave. and Rynok Sq.), where you can buy different things. Among the goods presented: Christmas gifts, traditional ceramics, linen things, and works of artists. Besides, anyone can taste various sweets, donuts, honey, and mulled wine. The majority of all these goods are hand-made things.

On January, 7th on the square in front of Lviv Opera House Christmas kutia (a sweet grain pudding, traditionally served in etailed Christmas Fair program soon appear on our web-site.krainian) will be cooked and everyone wiil have the chance to try it. A huge pot will be set in the middle of the podium, where the best city hostess will conduct the workshops on poppy grinding, nuts crushing, raisins, dried apricots soaking etc.. All these ingredients will be the final chord in the preparation, and then refreshments with merry carols.
