First tour train in Lviv

The biggest attraction of Lviv city this winter is a new tour train offering guided excursions around ancient town. This train has started working on January 1, 2009. The departure point of the train route is  the Rynok square going each hour from 10:00 till 16:00 and by January 11 a promotional program wil be launched into practice. The road-train is considered for transportation of 56 people, consisting of the locomotive and two vagons with a glass ceiling. The train was produced in Germany. It route will pass from the Railway station to the Lychakiv cemetery through all the city centre and back. The promotional program, that is available until January 11 will continue 1 hour and the excursion itself will be in Ukrainian. The price of such tour for adults is 30 hryvnas, for children younger than 13 years old it is 15 hryvnas, for those until 6 years it is free of charge and a family of two adults and one child can go on excursion for 60 hryvnas. In the future it is planned to hold excursions in 5 languages: Ukrainian, Polish, English, German and Russian and will continue 1 hour and a half. The ticket will be sold as permanent for the whole day for 60-80 UAH, but tourists will have an opportunity to go off the train when they want and to renovate their tour at any moment. It is also planned to translate the excursions in 26 languages.
